I know this is a pretty specific question, but i guess overall im asking if like programs that i have on that drive will still function if i make a shortcut to the file or something.ĭepends. Paths to anything else will or might: all that was on old OS drive will be on a drive which will have a different letter now (like D: instead of C:). Paths for data won't change (since you move it back to new Win drive which will become C: again). Probably will work for Discord, but Steam will be better off with a clean login and manually pointing to forlders with already installed games. You're reinstalling those programs on a new Win first, then move only data folders back. Would they still function the same? like with steam or discord for example, or steam games, would it know where to run it properly through the file path?
By manually move, do you mean just copy/drag it over to program files in new drive?
